Little Library and Bits are Back

Happy Wednesday Everyone,

This week has been a little bit slow while we wait on the delivery of the next batch of JST encoders and PCBs. In the meantime we have been testing the new connectors, along with several of our users.

Test Projects

We have been using two projects as test pieces this month: a Little Library and some dainty flower pots. Both projects have some unique elements that we wanted to experiment with. For example, the little library has some long narrow pockets which serve to guide assembly. The shelves, door frame, and back will slot into grooves in either wall. Some additional hardware will be used to make sure those books stay secure, but this a good simple joint that we wanted to test.

Here is what the library will look like when it is finished and Anna will post the files if you want to try to make your own.

The second test project was to make some a flower pot. We needed a project with a small footprint to use up some scrap material and so the idea for the flower pot was born. The pots(we made 2) consists of donuts of plywood stacked up and glued together like a cake. It also gave us an opportunity to look at the Maslow’s ability to cut concentric circles on a small scale repeatedly.

While there was some slight variation in diameter, it was nothing a little sanding couldnt fix. Anna also decided to add a little extra texture to the outside for some visual intrigue. Check it out below

We will eventually post some videos with more detail on these projects and post pictures of the finished products as well. If you have anything you would like to see us build, let us know!

And here are our competitors this week!

Game Controller Stand by @Turboki who posted the files as well, if you want to try to make one! Thanks @Turboki

Folding Kitchen Step Stool by @smarcus3. This is a work in progress but it was too cool not to share. Don’t worry @smarcus3, we will add you to the contest again when it’s done.

Immortan Joe Emblem by @Turboki who is working on Halloween decorations already!

Itsa Me, Mario! By @fireslayer26, who was running a test to replicate an error. No error this time and the cut came out clean and crisp!

Routers are Back in Stock!

We got a new batch of router bits in stock, hopefully they’ll stay in stock a little longer this time 😛. You can check them out in the shop.

Thats all we have this week. Have a good one!
