Boxes Moving, a Mistake, and a Video

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Our upgrade kits are all out the door and on their way to you! For our international backers that means they could start arriving in a matter of days. We’re working on finding an automated way send out tracking numbers (right now they’re all just in one big spreadsheet), but for those of you waiting on an upgrade kit and living close to China there is a chance that your package might arrive before we figure out how to send out tracking numbers so keep an eye out for it.

For those of us in the US, our kits have been palletized, loaded into a container, and they are also making their way to use, albeit a bit more slowly.

A Mistake 😔:

As the Maslow 4.1 upgrade kits were being packed, we discovered an issue…but fortunately not too big of an issue.

At the last minute we decided to include a screwdriver in the package. We know that working with the little allen key can be a pain in the butt and since there are good screw drivers available for the Torx screws we thought why not include one for everyone as a free upgrade?

This was very much a last minute decision, and in my rush to get the screwdrivers in time to not delay shipping I accidentally purchased T8 screwdrivers instead of the correct T10 screwdriver which means they are too small to fit the majority of the screws in the kit.

We decided not to delay shipping over this issue because we’re really excited about the 4.1 upgrade and we want to get them out to you. I feel like a bit of an idiot sending everyone a free screwdriver which only fits the four set screws. We hope it serves you well on some other project. If you do want to get the correct screwdriver, any standard Torx T10 screwdriver will work, or you can use the included Torx T10 allen wrench driver included in the box. 

Setting up a Maslow 4.1 in My Garage:

As we get closer to hardware arriving in your houses, this week I decided to go through the process of setting up a Maslow 4.1 in my house, and I made a video about that process, which you can watch here.

Faster Shipping Option:

Finally, we would like to offer a faster shipping option for Maslow 4.1 Kits which are going to ship to the US after the CNY holiday. Shipping by sea to the US is much more economical, but also much slower than shipping by air. There was a request in the comments of our update last week for a faster shipping option to the US, and we’re happy to oblige. Unfortunately, we can only offer it for the 4.1 full kits since the 4.1 upgrade kits to the US have already shipped, but if you are waiting on a Maslow 4.1 Full Kit and would like to have your kit shipped by air instead of by sea, we have an option for that here. This is ENTIRELY optional, if you don’t mind waiting a few extra weeks for your machine to arrive then you don’t need to do anything. The difference in arrival time will be about three weeks.
